Our Story
Our story began on September 17, 2020, at Laumeier Sculpture Park. Mason knew the park well, but it was Kate’s very first visit. We spent the afternoon wandering past the sculptures, sharing silly stories, and attempting to set up a picnic… despite not having brought any food or drinks. Instead, we spread a blanket under a pine tree and talked for hours.
From that day on, we quickly became inseparable. We would spend hours on the phone playing games, watching movies together, and even falling asleep and waking up at the same time.
A few years later, when life started moving forward, we moved to Springfield after Mason started his degree at MSU (Go Bears!). Apartment life was fun, but we wanted to make it feel more like home. That’s when Hermes, Freya and Butters had joined our little family and brought even more personality into our lives.
Exactly five years after our first date—on September 17, 2025—we returned to Laumeier Sculpture Park. Beneath that same pine tree where everything started, Mason got down on one knee and asked Kate to be his forever.
Of course, she said yes!

ELEVATED WESTERN
We look forward to seeing your most stunning takes on Elevated Western—creative blends of classic, rugged western pieces paired with polished, formal attire.
Our colors are inspired by fall and the natural tones of the countryside—burgundy, rust, burnt orange, golden hues, deep blues and soft greens.
Ladies:
Think classic western style with a polished, wedding-ready twist.
Flowy midi or maxi dresses.
Western-inspired accessories like turquoise jewelry, leather belts with statement buckles.
Cowboy boots and dressy leather boots are welcome!
Gentlemen:
Button-down shirts.
Dark jeans or dress pants, think dressy western—stylish and polished, but comfortable.
Blazers paired with denim.
Leather boots or dress boots, we’re especially excited to see your best cowboy boots!
Cowboy and cowgirl hats are welcome after the ceremony!
